Services for Mr. Leo Tomlin will be held 11 am, Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Union United Methodist Church with Rev. Len McRainey officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Milling Funeral Home of Union in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Tomlin, 91, died 10:30 pm, Sunday, August 23, 2009 in the home of his daughter in Birmingham, AL
Mr. Tomlin was a retired postal worker and tax practioner for 32 years. He served in the First Calvary of the U.S. Army in World War II in the Pacific Theater and was a recipient of Silver Star with Oak Leaf Cluster and a Purple Heart.Mr. Tomlin and his wife lived in Union, Ms for 47 years and will long be remembered for thier many contributions to the community and thier church, Union United Methodist.
Survivors include: 1 Daughter: Ginger Tomlin and husband David Jenkins of Birmingham, AL
1 Son: Wilbern "Tom" Tomlin of Hattisburg, MS
3 Grandchildren: Gina Elaine Pearson-Hines of Birmingham, Chad Tomlin and Bart Tomlin of Hattisburg.
1 Great Granddaughter: Ava Elaine Hines of Birmingham
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Tomlin, daughter, Nancy Tomlin, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
Family request in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Union United Methodist Church (East Jackson Rd. Union, Ms 39365) or favorite charity.
