Services for Mr. Gwendol (G.H.) Barham will be held 2:30 pm, Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Clarke Venable Baptist Church with Dr. Richard Ethridge and Rev. Mark Vincent officiating. Burial in the Newton County Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Milling Funeral Home of Union in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Barham, 87, of Union, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Jeff Anderson Medical Center.
Mr. Barham was in the Airforce and a Marine. He served 20 years in the military service. He was an outdoorsman and an avid fisherman.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Barham of Philadelphia, Michael Galloway and husband Bill of Union, and Tammy Barham Rich of Decatur. Four grandchildren, Phillip Ashton Walker, Natalie Thomas, Michelle and Jessica Galloway. One great grandson, Preston Thomas. One sister, Christine Reid and one sister-in-law, Hattie Barham. He was survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Barham was preceded in death by his wife, Corrinne Kirby Barham, parents, Hubert and Lokie Barham, several brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 21, 2009 from 5-8 pm at Milling Funeral Home of Union.
