Funeral Service for Mr. Bobby Dahlberg, age 78, of Bladon will be held Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 2:00pm from the Bladon Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Don Whigham and Rev. Ralph Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the McDowell Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Bobby Dahlberg, a native and lifelong resident of Bladon Springs, Alabama, was a member of Bladon Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Dahlberg graduated from Southern Choctaw High School in Silas, Alabama. He attended Auburn University and later enlisted in the Air Force and proudly served his country in the Korean War.
Mr. Dahlberg was owner and operator of Bobby's Fish Camp, established in 1956. He was also a life long mason.
He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Mr. Dahlberg is survived by his 3 daughters Lora Jane Dahlberg McIlwain of Silas; Reann Dahlberg Hudson of Mobile; and Melissa Shontel Dahlberg Swink of Branch; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; one sister Sally Dahlberg Knight of Mobile; a special daughter-in-law; and devoted nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Mitford Dahlberg and Mary Jane McDowell Dahlberg; brother Robert Dahlberg; sister Mary Dahlberg McPhearson; and 2 infanct brothers John and Thomas.
Pallbearers: Billy Allen, Bruce Dahlberg, Johnny Ray McDowell, Carl Wayne Thompson, James WIlliams, Vance Wood. Honorary Pallbearers: R.C. Atkinson, Paul Beard, Levi Griffin, Jerry McDowell, Lamar McIlwain, Jack McLemore, Fred Motes, Bud Ryland, Rush Watson.
Bumpers Funeral Home of Butler will be in charge of arrangements.
