Funeral services for Menlo R. Greer will be held at 10 A.M. , on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Newton County Funeral Home – North Chapel with Bro. Glenn Lafferty officiating. Burial will be private in the presence of immediate family members.
Newton County Funeral Home North, 9998 Hwy. 15 North is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Greer, 66, of Decatur, died Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the Specialty Hospital in Meridian.
He was born in Globe, Arizona, and lived Las Vegas, Nevada for 40 years, moving to Mississippi in 2005. He served in the Navy, on the USS Franklin Delano Roosevelt during the Vietnam War serving as a photographer. He enjoyed serving as a pitching coach at Green Valley High, Las Vegas High, and Bishop Gorman High in Las Vegas. He loved all aspects of music, especially, playing the piano, the saxophone, and the guitar. A favorite past time he enjoyed was oil painting, particularly,Western scenes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dansy Marl and Leone Rose Greer; his brother, Marl Shane Greer; and his sister, Karen Menzelli.

Greer, West Columbia, SC; and Dorwin Michael Greer, New Harmony, UT; His Sister: Winona Denning, Las Vegas, NV
Visitation will be held from 5 P.M. - 7 P.M. Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the funeral home.
