Services for Mrs. June Rowzee Addy will be held at 10am, Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Kilgore and Rev. Mark Vincent officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery with Milling Funeral Home of Union in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Addy, 75, of Decatur, died Monday, April 19, 2010, at Jeff Anderson Hospital.
June graduated from MSCW in 1956 with a degree in Music Education. She taught school for five years before becoming a full-time mother to Julie and Joe. She served for 30 years as pianist for Clarke-Venable Baptist Church and was presently serving as pianist at Bethel Baptist Church, the position she held when she left for college. June married James H. Addy of Decatur in 1957, and in 1965 they took over the family seed and feed store started by his father in 1944. The business known as Addy Farm and Garden is still in operation at this time. June will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a devoted friend.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, James; daughter Julie Mitchell(Charles), son Jospeh Addy(Tammie); grandchildren, Olivia, Michael and Camilla Addy, Sam and Josh Mitchell; one brother James Rowzee(Oneva), one sister Carol Greenlee; one sister-in-law, Betty Mayo(Dick); nieces and nephews, Linda Smith(Phil), Nelda Johnson(Paul), Robert Rowzee(Vonda), Tommy Greenlee(Jennifer), Kimberly Chandler, Jeff Mayo(Stacey). and Jack Mayo(Tracey).
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. William R. Rowzee, and one brother-in-law, Max Greenlee.
Pallbearers include: Phil Smith, Robert Rowzee, Tommy Greenlee, Jeff Mayo, Jack Mayo and Neil Knight.
Visitation will be held 5pm-8pm, Wednesday, April 21, 2010.
