A Memorial Service for Mr. Allen McMillan Tartt, Jr. age 72 of Livingston will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 11 A.M. from the Livingston Presbyterian Church with Rev. Neil McCarter officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. at the Livingston Presbyterian Church.
Allen McMillan Tartt Jr. of Livingston, Alabama, descendant of a pioneer Sumter County family, died Sunday, June 6, 2010, at Riley Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi. Mr. Tartt was a retired banker, graduate of the University of Alabama, a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, and veteran of the United States Air Force. He served as elder and deacon for the First Presbyterian Church of Livingston. He was involved in numerous civic organizations and was a man who will be remembered for his keen wit, integrity and lively personality. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Mr. Allen Tartt is survived by his wife Mary Williams Tartt of Livingston.
He is survived by his son Allen McMillan Tartt, III of Livingston; daughter Jody Tartt White & Husband Jack of Livingston; Mary Adams Tartt of Washington, DC; sisters Mrs. Anne Lyons of Birmingham, Alabama; Mrs. Duke Robinson and Husband Duke of Orange Beach, Alabama; grandchildren Bill Tartt, Blackley Tartt, Kate Hightower, Mary McCollum White, Henry Tartt White; host of nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers: the deacons and elders of the First Presbyterian Church of Livingston, Coke Williams Jr., McNeil Robinson, Hill Robinson, Sam Jones, Fred Walburn, and Bob Holycross
