ADRAN DANIEL DELAINE, age 81, of York, Alabama, passed May 17, 2012 at Hill Hospital of Sumter County, York, Alabama. Service of remembrance will be Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Cuba with Rev. Jimmy E. Johnson delivering the eulogy; Rev. Wayne C. Davis is church pastor. Interment follows in the Delaine Family plot of Cagus Cemetery, also Cuba, Alabama. Mr. Delaine will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time. Visitation for family and friends is Friday evening (May 25th) from 3-7:00 p.m. with the 6-7:00 hour designated as "Family Hour".

Adran Daniel Delaine was the sixth of ten children born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence L. (Joanna Ward) Delaine on August 10, 1930 in Cuba (Sumter County) Alabama.
He joined Zion Hill Baptist Church at an early age. He received his education at Kinterbish High School. He became a member of Lawrence Delaine and Sons construction group and later formed Adran Delaine and Sons Construction Company. He was famous for his artistic arches in the construction business industry and constructed numerous building projects in west Alabama and south east Mississippi.
He leaves to cherish his memories and to celebrate his life to a very devoted wife Mrs. Bonnett (Amerson) Delaine. The children include Michael, Larry (Kimberly) of Birmingham, AL; Lafayette (Ingra), Absalom (Tiffany) of Houston, TX; Sharon (Kenneth) of Bay Minette, AL; Terence (Janet) of Sulpher, LA; Adran Jr., Wendell (Mildred), Gail, Vernon (Jacqueline), Elder (Angela) of Cuba, AL; Aletta (James) of Birmingham, AL; and Carolyn (Michael) of San Antonio, TX. He leaves three sisters Mrs. Laurene Tucker and Mrs. Mildred Black of York, AL; Mrs. Minnie Ruth Jones of Chicago, IL; one brother W.C. (Aligee) Delaine of Cuba, AL; three sisters-in-law Dorothy, Diane, Minnie Delaine; one brother-in-law Rufus Pearce; a special recognition to the Allen family to include a devoted friend A.C. Allen who proceeded him in death; a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
