Alton L. Thrash
Services for Alton L. Thrash will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Ervin Mooney and Reverend Marcus Linton officiating. Burial will be in Forest lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Thrash, 72, of Meridian died Sunday, January 12, 2014, at his residence. He worked at Mid South Welding Supply for many years. Mr. Thrash enjoyed playing bluegrass music.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Thrash, of Meridian; daughters, Lisa Powell and husband Chris of Collinsville, Kim Freeman and husband Donnie of Biloxi and Laura Hand and husband Randall of Clinton; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Austin L. Thrash and wife Rachel of Meridian, and P.A. Thrash and wife Beverly of Meridian and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Preston and Nettie Thrash; two brothers, Edward Thrash and Jerald Thrash, four sister, Louise McPhearson, Deloris Petterman, Gladys Sims and Alice McClain.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Thrash, Christopher Thrash, Homer McPhearson, Ronnie McPhearson, Dean McPhearson and Chris Varner. Honorary pallbearers will be James Stokley and Jason McPhearson.
