Anne H. Johnson, 92, of Demopolis, Alabama passed away peacefully Sunday, August 25, 2013.
Anne was an active member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church, particularly in the Altar Society. Anne’s dedication was well know to parishioners and included the care of altar linens, priest’s vestments and the like. She loved to cook and was known for her coconut cake and yeast rolls, and many a priest enjoyed her home-cooked meals! Her most memorable experience was a trip to the Vatican and a private audience with Pope John II.
Anne was a veteran of World War II, serving as Clerk/Typist at Dover AFB, Delaware.
Anne was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Horn Johnson. Survivors include two sons, Robert S. Johnson of Villa Rica, GA, and Albert L. Johnson of San Antonio, TX, as well as two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Demopolis, Alabama.
A graveside service will be held Friday, August 30th, at 2:00 P.M. at the Cemetery in York, Alabama.
