Carlene B. Buntyn passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Anderson Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi. Visitation is
Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 5 p.m.to 8 p.m. at Milling Funeral Home in Union. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, at Milling Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, June 5, 2013. Interment to follow at Lucern Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Enas Hyman and Rev. Jimmy Holder will officiate.
Carlene was an active member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville, and a member of the Adult Ladies V Retired Sunday School Class. Active member of Collinsville Community Club; a past member of the Lula Moore Garden Club in Collinsville. She was a graduate of Rush Hospital Nursing School Class of 1951.
She loved working in her yard whether she was planting flowers and watching them grow or pulling weeds from her many flower beds. She loved collecting and showing anyone who visited her home her Barbie Doll Holiday Collection and Lenox Bird Collection. She enjoyed reading. She was a very gifted knitter and enjoyed knitting with her knitting class friends each week. She was a wonderful cook and loved baking cakes and cookies and sharing them with all of her friends in Collinsville and Meridian. She loved to travel with her husband, Joe; they had experienced travel thru out the United States and Canada during their 61 years of marriage.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Frank Buntyn, Jr, two sons, Dale Buntyn and wife Fern, and Kim Buntyn, all of Collinsville. Five grandchildren Susan Yeske and husband Jason, Joe Frank “Trey” Buntyn III, Kathryn Byars and husband Corey, Wess Ward and wife Regina,
Mallory Blackman and husband Paul.
Six great-grandchildren Jason Yeske, Jr “Duo”, Seth Yeske, Eliza Grace Ward, Neil Ward, Alon Blackman, and Isabelle Byars.
Two sisters Faye Collins, Elaine Lee, one brother, Jeff Buckley and wife Sarah all of Meridian.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Thelma Buckley, and one brother, Warren Buckley.
