DOCK 'SuDo" WILLIAMS, JR., age 87, of York, Alabama, born to the late Dock and Maggie Chaney Williams, Sr., known by many as "SuDo" and Duke, passed June 9, 2014 at Anderson Regional Medical Center, Meridian, Mississippi. Service of remembrance will be June 14, 2014 at 1:00 p. m. from First Baptist Church, 254 McConnell Street, York. Rev. Jonathan Byrd is church pastor; Rev. Willie Fortner and Rev. Roosevelt Lee will officiate and deliver the eulogy. Mr. SuDo will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time. Interment follows in Home Mission Cemetery, off of the Millville Road in York. On Friday evening (June 13th) a scheduled viewing will be held for family and friends in the Weatherly Chapel from 3-6:00 p.m. The processional leaves from the family residence at 12:40 Saturday afternoon.
Those who are left to celebrate his life and cherish precious memories are: two beloved daughters- Diane Grandberry and TerLether Williams, both of York, Ala., three sons - Henry (Stephanie) Williams of Boston, Mass., Allen (Dorothy) Williams and Willie Lee Williams, both of York, Ala., one sister, Pearlie Lake Landrum, York, Ala., one brother-in-law and four sisters-in-law; thirteen (13) grandchildren, twenty (20) great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who loved him dearly. Dock had two special friends who cared for him; Mark Davis and Lonnie Crumpton, Sr.
