Earline Thomas Laird, 84 of Newton, MS, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Pioneer Community Hospital in Newton, MS. Funeral services will be held at: 10:00am, on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Hebron Baptist Church in Little Rock, MS. Burial will be in Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery, Little Rock, MS. Newton County Funeral Home South, Old Hwy 15 Loop, Newton, MS is in charge of arrangements 601-635-3200.
Earline was a long time member of Hebron Baptist Church and served as wife, mother, and grandmother to a family of believers and ministers of the gospel. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her avid reading of Scripture, having read through the Bible more than one hundred times. She was known for living her life with tremendous enthusiasm and was fully devoted to all that she undertook. There is absolutely no question that she loved her Lord, her family and in recent years all of her caretakers.
Preceded in death by: husband: Bro.Cecil Laird; brothers: James and Joe Thomas and sister: Claudia Thomas Hines.
Survivors Include: sons: Harold Laird,(Peggy)of Newton, MS and Roger Laird,(Rexine) of Collinsville, MS; daughter: Joyce Laird Rigdon, (Willie) of Laurel, MS; 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers: Brian Laird , Michael Rigdon, John Rigdon, Timothy Laird, Keith McMahan, Matt Skinner, Marty Turner and Matthew Harmon.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Newton County Funeral Home South in Newton, MS.
