Ethel Alexander Cain

Funeral services for Ethel Alexander Cain will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Newton County Funeral Home – South Chapel with Bro. Jack Kern officiating. Burial will be in Chunky Cemetery.Newton County Funeral Home South, 100 Old Highway 15 Loop, Newton, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Cain, 91, of Meridian, formerly of Chunky, died Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Golden Living Center.

She was a Lauderdale County native and lived in Chunky most of her life. She was a faithful member of Chunky Baptist Church and was a devoted Christian, who loved spending time reading her Bible. She also enjoyed quilting and sewing. Favorite past time was being with her family and loved ones.

Survivors include: her son: Bowman "Bill" (Kathy) Lamar Giles, Jr. , Forest; her daughters:Royce (Ricky) Posey , Meridian and Ann (David) Todd , Chunky; her daughter-in-law: Phyllis Cain , Chunky; her sister: Myrtle Irby, Chunky; her brother: Lonnie Alexander, Chunky; her grandchildren: Faye (Jimmy) Johnston; Kaye (Kent) Usry; Kim (Steve) Miles; Merri (Alan) Ezelle; David Nixon; Vicky (Jay) Kerr; Travis (Brenda) Todd; Renee (Greg) Boggan; Jason (Anna) Cain, and Candy (Jim) Miles; her great-grandchildren: Shea (Bo) Boles; Stephanie Gibson; Jay Johnston; Kris (Missy) Usry; Kristy (Davidson) Callahan; Markii (Andy) Posey; Stewart Sandford; Meagan Miles; Madeline Ezelle; Ethan Ezelle; Joanna Johnston; Cameron Boggan; Conner Boggan, Jarrod Cain; Chris Cain; Jake Cain; Peyton Cain; Olivia Cain; Riley Kerr Cain; Calah Mathis; Wyatt Miles; Dillon Miles; Ethan Kerr; Sam Kerr; Caleb Nixon; Taylor Todd, and Tanna Todd; her great-great grandchildren: John Davis Gibson; Lilly Grace Gibson; Griffin Boles; Emmitt Boles; Andrew Posey; Emma Posey; Chole Callahan; Carter Callahan, and Montana Carter.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Earnest Lomax Cain, Sr.; her parents: Melton & Leona Peavy Alexander; her son: Earnest Lomax Cain, Jr.; her grandsons: Earnest Lomax Cain, III, and Dustan Todd; her brother: Earnest Alexander, and her sister: Ruth Dean.

Pallbearers will be David Nixon, Jason Cain, Travis Todd, Greg Boggan , Jay Kerr, Jimmy Johnston, Kent Usry, Alan Ezelle, Steve Miles, and Jim Miles.

Visitation will be held Saturday, from 1:00 P.M. - 1:45 P.M. at the funeral home.
