Graveside services for Evelyn Barbara Beckley will be 11 A.M. Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Park under the direction of Sunset Funeral Home, 3940 N. Vamillion St., Danville, IL.
Mrs. Beckley, 94 of Newton, MS, died Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Pioneer Community Hospital. She lived in Illinois and was employed for 27 years at J.C. Penney in advertising and display and was a member of the 522 club. She and her husband collected and restored antique automobiles. She was a lifetime member of Illiana Antique Auto Club. She was a charter of the Sub Deb Club. She became a member of Newton United Methodist Church when she moved here several years ago to be near her son and family, with whom she enjoyed spending time.
Survivors include one son: Bob Beckley and wife Judy of Newton; two grandchildren: Beth Jenkins and husband Bubba of Lawrence and Robbie Beckley and wife Amy of Brandon; three great-grandchildren: Lauren Lurk of Starkville; Jacob Lurk of Lawrence and Carrie Elizabeth Beckley of Brandon; two step great-grandchildren: Gracie Johnson and Paige Johnson, both of Brandon special nieces and nephews: Larry and Marie Smith, Barbara and George Dudich;, David Smith and Dennis Smith; Val and Steve Ogelvie and Greg and Marilee Smith; and special friends: Jay and Nancy Boyd.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Perry L. Beckley and her parents: Edwin Paul Smith and Garnett Holycross Smith Stephens; two brothers: Charles Smith and wife Wanda Peak and Howard Smith and wife Betty Smith.
