Evelyn Warren Cosby, 81 of Prattville, AL, formerly of Newton and Lake, died Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Jackson Hospital Montgomery, AL.

Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. , on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Newton County Funeral Home - South in Newton with Bro. Ken McLemore officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 P.M. - 8 P.M. on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 and on Wednesday, one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Newton County Funeral Home of Newton is in charge of arrangements. 601-635-3200.

Evelyn was born and raised in Blackhawk to Robert and Hattie Mims. In her teen years, she moved to Columbus where she met and married Delbert. The couple moved to Newton where they raised their chilren and lived until Delbert's death in 1996. She moved to Lake and became a member of First Baptist Church and the Charity Sunday School Class. She was married to Elmer Cosby until his death in 2011. The last two years of her life, she lived in Prattville, AL. In her working years, she worked in several garment factories, the longest being Newton Company for 38 years. She belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star and was known for being an excellent cook and gardener with a green thumb. She enjoyed music, dancing, and dressing up. She was a hard-working person, a good mother, and wife. She will be missed by many.

Survivors include: two sons: Robert Earl Warren, and wife Mary and Bobby Joe Warren, and wife Jinni, all of of Prattville, AL; one daughter: Nancy Joyce Federick, and husband Ricky of Lake; one sister: Forest Mims of Seattle, WA; grandchildren: Larry Warren, Lisa Nabors, Julie Milton, Matt Warren, Hunter Warren, Chrystal Brown, Sonya Federick, Misty Hampton, Stephen Dozier, and Joshua Newton; great-grandchildren: Brandi Hernandas, Daniel Hall, Joshua Hall, Jessica Warrick, Rocky Milton, Mikala Warren, Dent Kelly, Corey Kelly, Tanner Kelly, Gabriel Hampton, Grace Hampton, Cayden Brown, and Carston Brown, to be born later this month; great-great grandchildren: Larasha Short, Javier Hernandas, Angel Hall, Emily Hall, and Joshua Hall, Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by: her husbands: Delbert Warren and Elmer Cosby; harents: Robert and Hattie Galey Mims; sisters: Lorena Cox of Yazoo City; Nickle Randell of Pearl River, LA; Nolie Bruce of Lexington; and Ann Davis of Columbus; brothers: Robert Mims of Columbus; Fred Mims of Columbus; Houston Mims of Coila; B.F. Mims of Greenwood and Babe Ruth Mims of Columbus

Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
