Funeral services for George “Butch” Lamar Meaders, Sr. will be held at Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 11 AM Newton County South Chapel with the Rev. John Sweeny, Rev. Gerald Chaney, and Rev. Frank Kirtley officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Cemetery.

Mr. Meaders, 67, of Meridian, died Thursday, February 17, 2011 at James T. Champion Nursing Facility.
He loved music, the outdoors, and playing his guitar. He was an avid Atlanta Braves Baseball fan, and a fan of the New Orleans Saints. He also was a proud US Marine.
He was preceded in death by his father: John Henry Meaders, Jr.; and brothers: Gregory James Meaders and Michael Meaders; and his sister: Babette Meaders.
Survivors Include: Wife: Tammy Lynn Hollis Meaders, Brookhaven, MS Son: George (Butch) Lamar & wife Tammy Meaders, Newton, MS Daughter: Kristy Diane Cleveland & husband Scott, Huntsville, AL Mother: Olive Catherine Dease Meaders Chunky, MS Sisters: Jean Meaders Brown & husband Jerry of Chunky Anna Meaders Battle & husband Ronnie of Philadelphia, MS Emily Meaders Craven & Husband Mark of Collinsville, MS Grandchildren: Christopher Steven Meaders, Andrew Harris Needle,Kayla Christine Meaders, & Cody Michael Needle Great Grandchild: Ollie Cade Meaders
Pallbearers will be: Scott Cleveland, Kevin Battle, Blake Howell, Brent Brown, Rick Hasselle, Jr., and Don Cooper. Honorary pallbearer will be Rodney Meaders.
Visitation will be held Friday 5PM til 8 PM at Newton County South.
