Services for Ms. Hazel Anthony Heflin will be held 2pm, Sunday, June 10, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Union with burial in the Union City Cemetery. Rev. Jon Martin and Rev. Eric Sharp officiating.
Visitation will be held 5-8 pm, Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Milling Funeral Home of Union. Visitation will also be held 30 minutes prior to services on Sunday.
Ms. Heflin, 89, of Union, died Thursday, June 7, 2012 at her home.
Ms. Hazel was born on August 6, 1922, in Sebastopol, Mississippi, to Clay and Effie Anthony. She enjoyed her childhood friends and school experiences in Sebastopol. After graduation, she moved to Union where she met and later enjoyed 51 years of marriage to Billie A. Heflin. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she worked with the children’s Sunday School for many years. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family.
Survivors include: her daughter, Teresa Blount and her husband Robert of Union. Her two grandsons, Bobby Blount and his wife Stephanie, and Jody Blount of Union. She had one loving great-granddaughter, Anna-Grace Blount of Union.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie, her parents, a sister, Clayton Grimes of Jackson, brothers, Bob Anthony of Clinton, Sturgis Anthony of Jackson, and Bill Anthony of Sebastopol.
Pallbearers will be Joe Blount, Bennett Ware, Harold Cleveland, Ronnie Anthony, Hugh Rush, and Larry Driskell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. J.G. Alexander and William Cassel.
