James A. "Jim" Richardson

Funeral services for James A. “Jim” Richardson will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Newton County Funeral Home-South Chapel with the Rev. Gary Felton and Rev. Daniel Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Newton County Funeral Home South, 100 Old Highway 15 Loop, Newton, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Richardson, 74 of Newton, died Thursday,April 14, 2011 at The Specialty Hospital in Meridian. He was a Newton County native and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He was a retired emloyee of La-Z-Boy South where he was an upholstry superintendent. He enjoyed gardening, working in flower beds, and raising and tending to livestock and chickens. He loved life and tried his best to live it to the fullest.

Survivors include his wife: Earline Wiles Richardson, Newton; his children: Linda (Jeff) Pierce, Lawrence; Ronnie (Tammy) Richardson, Decatur; his grandchildren: Kristy (Clyde) Mann; Angela (Chris) King, and Cody Richardson; his great-grandchildren: Madison Mann, Gregory Crocker, and Macy Claire Mann; his sister: Vera Thornsberry, Decatur; and a host of nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents: Davis and Lora Bell Loper Richardson, and his brothers: Cecil Richardson and Phillip Richardson, and an infant brother, Elry Frank Richardson

Pallbearers will be Cliff Richardson, Shannon Doss. Cody Richardson, Clyde Mann, Chris King, Bobby Wiles, and Billy Wiles.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles Thompson, C.B. Thompson, Carl Weaver, and Jackie Smith.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The Gideons International, P.O. Box 297, Newton, MS 39345.

Visitation will be held from 5 P.M. - 8 P.M. on Friday, April 15, 2011 at the funeral home.
