Services for Ms. Ollie Kate Gardner of Union will be held 10:30 am, Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at County Line Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Robin Risher and Rev. Bobby Jack Henley will officiate.
Ms. Gardner, 93, of Union, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, April 20, 2013 at J.G. Alexander Nursing Home.
For the past few years, Ms. Gardner has lived at J.G. Alexander Nursing Center, but her home was in the County Line community, where she was the oldest living member of County Line Baptist Church.
1 Son: Ken Gardner and wife Lynn of Keller, Texas
2 Grandchildren: Mark Gardner and wife Shannon & Jojuan Gardner Chapman and husband Don
6 Great Grandchildren, all from Texas
Ms. Gardner was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Pascal (Pat) Gardner.
During much of her life, she worked at Midland Shirt Company and was a local news reporter for the Union Appeal. She made hundreds of fabric crosses to give away and many quilts and pillows. She and Pat loved to travel in their camper. She was known as ‘Ma Kate’ to family and friends. She knew the Lord and has gone to be with Him.

Visitation will be held 5-7 pm, Monday, April 22, 2013 at Milling Funeral Home of Union.
