Kenneth Boutwell, Sr.

Kenneth Boutwell, Sr., 93 of Newton, died Friday, March 7, 2014 at Pioneer Community Hospital in Newton.

Graveside services will be 10 A.M. , on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Newton County Memorial Gardens in Newton with Bro. William Savell officiating. Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be 5 P.M. - 8 P.M. at Newton County Funeral Home North on Sunday, March 9, 2014.

He was formerly president of Newton County Farm Bureau and member of the state board as well as a member of the national Dairymen, Inc. Board. He was a former chairman and a charter member of the East Central Dairies, Inc. His passion was his farm and in later years growing gardens for those in the community. He was a member of Garlandville Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons: Kenneth Boutwell, Jr. and wife Jean of Tallahassee, FL and Wayne Boutwell, and wife Loletta of Suwanee, GA; one daughter-in-law: Mae Dell Boutwell of Newton; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Elizabeth Wilson Boutwell; one son: Stanley Boutwell; parents: Green and Dova Lee McGee Boutwell; two sisters: Lena Pearl Griffin and Lucille Montgomery; and one brother: Osborn "Sam" Boutwell.

Pallbearers: Jeff Boutwell, Robert Peterson, Jimmy Patty, Mark Boutwell, Alan Teel, Allen Boutwell and Brian Chaney.

Honorary Pallbearers: Casey Leach and Michael Leach.
