LUCY LARD, age 91, of Cuba, Alabama, passed February 27, 2011 in Oaks Rehabilitation Center, Meridian, Mississippi. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 2:00 P. M. at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Cuba. Rev. P. S. Jenkins, pastor, delivering the eulogy. Interment follows in the adjacent Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled Friday evening (March 4th) from 3-6:00 P.M. at the Weatherly Chapel with the 5-6:00 P.M. hour designated as Family Hour. The full processional will leave from Alberta Clayton's (Daughter) residence located 6556 York Road, Lauderdale, Ms. at 1:45 P.M.Saturdaly afternoon.
Those left to cherish precious memories are: a loving husband, K.C. Lard, Cuba, Alabama; five (5) children - three sons; K.C. (Rita) Lard, Jr., Porterville, Miss., C.B. (Willie Mae) Lard, Collinsville, Ms and L.T. Lard of Lauderdale, Ms., two daughters - Alberta Clayton and Bulah (Anthony) Williams, both of Lauderdale, Ms; a special grand daughter, Betty (Jerry) Hopson of Marion, Ms; twelve (12) grandchildren; (17) seventeen great grandchildren; one great, great grandson; one brother- Sherman Burton of Meridian, Ms; one aunt, Lee Grace Clark, also of Meridian; and numerous other nieces, nephews and many friends who loved her dearly.
