MELVINA POWELL "Tin" CLARK, age 88, of Livingston, Alabama, born to the late John and Melvina Tanksley Powell, passed March 14, 2014 at WellStar Douglas Hospital, Douglasville, Georgia. Service of Remembrance is Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 12:00 noon from Johnson Baptist Church, Livingston, with interment following in Johnson Cemetery. Rev. Samuel Harris, pastor, is to deliver the eulogy; Sis. Beverly Hale Wade serving as Mistress of order. Sister Clark will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time. Visitation for family and friends is Friday evening (March 21st) from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. After the committal service, fellowship and repast will be in the cafeteria of Livingston Jr. High School.
She leaves to cherish precious memories: three daughters; Mary E. Smith, Birmingham, Ala., Lucendia Clark, Detroit, Michigan and Emily C. Jordan, Douglasville, Ga; five grandchildren- Amy L. Smith, Clarice Y. Smith, Anulat (Russell)Jordan-Jones, Jerome Clark, and Kaeyava Ivy; two great grandchildren, Juan Clark and Aniya Ivy; four sisters, Annie Beard, Detroit, MI., Lillie B. Graves, York, Ala., Lue Jean (Henry) Scott, Meridian, MS., and Georgia M. Powell of York, Ala. Preceding her in death are, her husband, Deacon J.B. Clark; three siblings, Leatha DeLoach, Emily Jones and Early Powell. She is further survived by special neighbors and friends, Carrie Chapman, Romon Dubose and Loretta McKeller; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
