A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Floy Davidson Garner will be held 11a.m., Friday, December 21, 2012, at Clarke Venable Baptist Church with burial in the Decatur City Cemetery. Rev. Mark Vincent will officiate.
Mrs. Garner, 95, of Decatur, died Wednesday, December 18, 2012, at Pioneer Community Hospital.
Mrs. Garner was an active member of Clarke Venable Baptist Church for over 40 years, where she was a member of the Golden Homemakers Sunday School Class.
She was a dedicated Christian who loved serving God and family. She participated in the Senior Adult Ministry, which included the Triple L Club, Senior Adult Choir and Game Nights (Dominoes).
Mrs. Floy enjoyed walking outdoors, pruning her flowers and gardening. She showed her family and friends her love by cooking delicious food. Some of her pastime was spent swinging on her porch watching and visiting with her neighborhood children.
Survivors include one son, Ted D. Garner and wife Addie of Houston, TX, one son-in-law, Donald A. Story and wife Myrna of Waynesboro; one sister, Dorothy L. Biggers of Mobile, AL.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Christy Moriarty and husband Peter of Orange, VA; Elise Offutt of Atlanta, GA; and Melanie Pope and husband Brad of Atlanta, GA; eight great- grandchildren, Ford, Robin, Lily, and Colton Moriarty, all of Orange, VA; Sarah, George, and Gibbs Pope and Samuel Offutt, all of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by a special friend of many years to her and all of her family, Irma Goodwin.
Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her husband, Emil C. Garner, and one daughter, Jane Story.

The family is very grateful for the special care provided by Susan, Tina, Doris, Ella and Virna and also the staff at Bedford Care Nursing Facility and Pioneer Community Hospital of Newton. She will be remembered as a loving, Godly mother, grandmother, sister,and friend.

Visitation will be held 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m., Friday at Clarke Venable Baptist Church. Milling Funeral Home of Union in charge of arrangements.
