NANCY LYNN WILSON, AGE 56, of Pleasant Grove, Alabama, born to the late Willie T. Wilson and Gracie L. Barnes of York, Alabama, passed away April 27, 2011 in the aftermath of the tragic tornado that hit Birmingham, Alabama. Her homegoing Celebration will be Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from Sumter County High School, York, Alabama. Rev. James Granger is to deliver the eulogy. Ms. Wilson will lie in repose from 9:30 a.m. until funeral time. Interment follows in Elmwood Memorial Gardens, Hwy. 11-East, York. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Friday evening (May 6th) from 3-6:00 p.m. at the Weatherly Chapel, located 1575 East 4th Avenue, York, Alabama. The funeral cortege will line up Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. at her sister's residence (Bessie G. Wilson) of 200 Pacific Avenue, York.
Those left to cherish precious memories are: her mother, Gracie Barnes, step-father, Willie G. Barnes of York, Ala., a brother, Douglas (Betty) Barnes of Livingston, Ala., two sisters- Bessie Wilson and Gracie (Derrick) Oliver, both of York, Ala., two step-sisters, Diane (Jerome) Lewis, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Mae Willie (Lorenzo) Brown of York, Ala., special nephew and two nieces- Justin, Kim and Jenia, a great niece, Kyla; two uncles, Floyd (Mary) Sturdivant, Peoria, Ill., and Walter (Jessie) Sturdivant of Roosevelt City, Ala., and an aunt, Julia (Janes) Everett of Shubuta, Ms., a special friend, Clinton Harville of Birmingham, Ala., a very dear friend, Sandra Grigsby, also of Birmingham, Ala., and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly and she will truly be missed.
