Nancy Mary Hillman Boutwell, 91, was wrapped in God’s blanket of love on October 9, 2010 at her residence in Newton, MS. Services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday October 12, 2010 in the chapel of Newton County Funeral Home North. Burial will be in the Poplar Springs Cemetery with Newton County Funeral Home North, 9998 Highway 15 N, Newton, MS is in charge of arrangements, 601-635-3200.
Nancy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her love and gentleness endeared her to many friends. She was a graduate of East Central Community College, where she met the love of her life, James. She was a retired dietician from Newton Regional Hospital. She loved quilting, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid Saints fan. She was a member of the Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, James H. Boutwell. She is survived by a son John (Barbara) Boutwell of Clinton, MS and a daughter, Nancy Jo (Larry) Bowman also of Clinton, three grandchildren Larry Jr. (Kim) Bowman of Brandon, MS, Jason (Melissa) Boutwell of Hattiesburg, MS, Nancy Kaye (Steve) Denham of Brandon, MS, a step grandson Glenn (Cathy) Goodwin of Marietta, GA, six great grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law Nina Hillman.
The family wishes to express their thanks to the loving and supportive staff of the Meridian Sta-Home Hospices and the excellent care provided by them. Also a special thanks and appreciation for the love and supportive care of Cathye Bates and Kathy Mosley. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 – 8:00pm at the funeral home.
