Funeral services for Nelda Jean Nix, 75, of Pennington will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 11 A.M. at the Butler First Assembly of God with Rev. Scottie Fulcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Barrytown Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Nix passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013 at her residence in Pennington. She was a retired seamstress from Vanity Fair and a retired cashier from Piggly Wiggly.
Survivors include children Allen Nix (Elizabeth) of Big Creek, MS; Wanda Gail Tyson of Lavaca, AL; Galinda Joy Harry (Gene) of Pennington; Jan Combs (Frankie) of Lavaca, AL; Tammy Gibson (Scott) of Mt. Sterling, AL; Jonathan Nix (Cassondra) of Butler, AL; sister Virginia Singley (Haskell) of Mt. Sterling, AL; brother Wilburn “Shine” Cooper (Pat) of Arkansas; sister-in-laws Louise Cooper of Vera Beach, FL and Jessie Cooper of Mt. Sterling, AL; 11 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Addie Cooper; husband John William Nix; brothers Charlie Cooper, J.C. Cooper, and James Cooper; sisters Clara Crews and Hazel Rogers; great granddaughter Pacey Renea Tyson.
Pallbearers are Scott Tyson, Jimmy Tyson, Daniel Tyson, Adam Harry, Brent Harry, Timmy Glosson, Micheal Gibson, and John Nix. Miniature pallbearers are Cole Nix and Adain Tyson. Honorary pallbearer is G.W. Ward.
