P. TOWNSEND, age 85, affectionately known as "Mrs. Honey" of Cuba, Alabama, passed December 14, 2010 at Sumter Health & Rehabilitation, York, Alabama. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 1:00 P. M. from Union Chapel CME Church, Ward. Rev. Jacqueline C. Phillips, pastor, officiating. Interment follows in Coakes Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Honey will 'not' lie in repose. The full processional will leave from the family residence at 12:40 p.m. for the church. Visitation is scheduled for 3-6:00 P. M. at the Weatherly Chapel, with the 5-6:00 p.m. hour designated for the family.
Those left to cherish precious memories of "Mrs. Honey " are: eight (8) daughters and nine (9) sons- Mary (Reginald) Taylor, ElizaTownsend, Arthur (Gloria) Townsend, Frank Townsend, Jr., Linda (Rev. Arthur) Graham, Andrew (Louise) Townsend and John Townsend, all of Ward, Ala., Clearance Townssend of Livingston, Ala., Lena Miller and Ida Bell McCoy of Cuba, Alabama, Cora Evans of Atlanta, Ga., David Townsend, Tuscaloosa, Ala., Dorothy Burton, York, Al., Sam (Helen) Townssend of Chattanooga, Tn; two sons and two daughters preceded her in death, along with one brother and one sister; thirty-two (32) grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.
