ROBERT THOMAS 'SHANG' CHAPMAN, age 74, of Livingston, Alabama, born to the late Robert and Mattie Abrams Chapman, passed October 6, 2012 at Hill Hospital, York, Alabama. Service of remembrance will be Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from the Gymnasium of Livingston Jr. High School with Rev. Samuel Harris delivering the eulogy and Sis. Lela M. Powell serving as mistress of order. Mr. Shang will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time. Interment follows in Johnson Cemetery, also Livingston. Visitation is scheduled for Friday evening from 3-6:00 p.m. in the Weatherly Chapel. The funeral processional will leave from the Chapman residence at 10:40 a.m. for the school. After the committal service repast is in the Cafeteria of LJrHS.

Those left to cherish precious memories and to celebrate his life are: a loving wife, Carrie D. Chapman; six daughters- Ashley and Shelia Chapman, Sarah (Wayne) Bowden, Donna Harris, Camilla Drish and Ann Clark, all of Livingston, Al., four sons: Romon DuBose (devoted son), Livingston, Ala., Steve (DeVon) Jackson, Epes, Al., Michael (Tracey) Coleman, Chicago, Ill., and Robert Thomas Chapman, Jr., Livingston, Al., two sons he raised as his own; Johnny Crockett, Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Allen Crockett, Livingston, Ala; four sisters- Alberta (Jimmy) Knighton, York, Ala; Susie Thompson, Livingston, Ala., Martha Fountain, Omaha, Nebraska, four brothers- Jeff (Joe Pearl) Chapman, James (Joyce) Chapman, Ruben (Jackie) Chapman and Eugene (Carlotta) Chapman, all of Omaha, Nebraska; a brother-in-law, Michael Clark, Tuscaloosa, Ala., twenty-eight (28) grandchildren, (27) great grandchildren; devoted friends who were always present in his life; Annie M. Lightfoot, Joe Danner, Willie M. Hatter, Earnestine Moore, Barbara Childers and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends and relatives who loved him dearly.
