Graveside Services for Mr. Robert Charles Winstead will be held Friday June 29, 2012 at 11:00 from the Union City Cemetery. Alston Johnson, Rector of Chapel of the Cross in Madison will officiate the services. Husband, father, and beloved G-Dad, Charles Winstead leaves a legacy of family and friends who will always treasure his acerbic wit, stock market analysis, and faith-based values. A hospital administrator for over 40 years, Charles retired from the Medical University of South Carolina after opening the groundbreaking MUSC Heart and Vascular Center . A member of Chapel of the Cross Episcopal Church, he loved nothing more than spending time with his family and cherished grandson. While travel was a frequent hobby, nothing was more important than home, and he was blessed to take his last breath in his own bed surrounded by loved ones.
Mr. Winstead, 73, of Madison, Passed away Tuesday June 26, 2012 at his residence in Madison. Survivors include: Wife of 47 years: Marion Winstead of Madison 1 Daughter: Allison Winstead of Madison 1 Grandson: Nicholas Winstead of Madison 1 Sister: Gayle Sessums and husband Max of Union 2 Nieces L Shelia Russell and husband Billy , Mandy Feasel and husband Jamie 1 Nephew: Terry Sessums Also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews. Mr. Winstead is preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Winstead and one brother Allen Winstead.
