Mr. Shields, 26, of Decatur, MS, formerly of Maryland Ave., Suffolk, VA, died Wednesday,July 18, 2012 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He enjoyed cooking, playing video games, watching movies, and computers. He was a "horror" movie fan, celebrating Halloween, his favorite time of the year. He loved football season and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. He was a spokesperson for telethons for The Childrens Miracle Network while he lived in Virginia, supporting organ donation awareness.
Survivors include his parents: Kirk and Tammy (Sloan) Minckler of Decatur; his sisters: Tawny Shields of Chunky; Jessica Colby and Ashleigh Minckler, both of Decatur; brothers: Ryan (Jannette) Shields of Kapolei, HI; Ryan Minckler and Hayden Colby, both of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Paul and Geneva Sloan
