Services for Ms. Mabel H. Truhitt will be held 2 pm, Friday, January 4, 2013 at Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Union with burial in the Greenland Cemetery. Rev. Jon Martin and Rev. Rusty Walton will officiate.
Ms. Truhitt, 90, of Meridian, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Ms. Truhitt taught school for 42 years in Newton and Neshoba County. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was a nursery worker for many years. Her love for children was reflected by her service for many years and also her care for children in her own home.
Survivors include: 4 Sisters, Jewel Edwards, of Macon, GA; Lillian McWilliams of Meridian; Sue Saxon and husband George of Philadelphia; Sarah Hall and husband Bill of Meridian
3 Brothers: Ozell Hardy of Clermont, FL; Charles Hardy of Meridian; and Jim Hardy and wife Bobbie of Philadelphia
Ms. Truhitt is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and special friends: Rodney, Janice, Lauren and Zack White; Drew, Rachel, Nikki and Andi LeBlanc.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Truhitt, infant son, Danny Charles, infant daughter, Alice Elaine and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Hardy.
Pallbearers: Keith Mooney, Mark Saxon, Brian Saxon, Stan Hardy, Billy McWilliams, Eddie Truhitt, Dale Yates and Billy Chisolm
Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to service time on Friday. Milling Funeral Home of Union in charge of arrangements.
