Graveside services for Thurman L. Nordan, 88, of Mathiston, Mississippi will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2 P.M. at the Spring Valley Cemetery in Mathiston, Mississippi with Rev. Wade Stevens officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 1 until 2 at the First Baptist Church of Mathiston.
Mr. Nordan a native of Choctaw County, Alabama passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Sumter Health and Rehabilitation in York. He was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran and was a retired millwright from the Allied Chemical Mill.
Survivors include his daughters Linda Paparella (Vito) of Livingston, AL; Glenda N. Greene (Charles) of Theodore, AL; four grandchildren Vita Paparella of Birmingham, AL; Bryan Paparella (Christina) of Huntsville, AL; Michael Greene (Stacie) of Theodore, AL; and Chad Greene of Daphne, AL; eight grandchildren Preston, Meg, and Elle Paparella of Huntsville, AL; Madison and McKenzie Greene of Daphne, AL; Bratton, Colton, and Briley Greene of Theodore, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents James Oliver and Bester Adelle Carlisle Nordan; wife Emma Mae Peacock; and five brothers and three sisters.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Friend’s of the Arts at PO Box 802, Livingston, Alabama 35470.
