Vera G. Morgan, 89, left this world to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, April 1, 2013.
Vera was born in Exmore, Alabama on May 4, 1923 to Burl and Neoma Bell Hudson Morgan. After the passing of Vera’s mother, Burl remarried Myrtle Lee Phelps. Vera had eight siblings. She met and married Robert Arnold Morgan and they had two children. The family lived and worked around Butler for years and ended up moving to Pensacola, Florida.
Vera and Arnold moved back to Butler to help care for Vera’s Dad following his stroke. Vera worked in the Cafeteria at Butler Elementary until she retired.
After Arnold’s passing and passing of years, Vera moved to Pensacola where the grandkids were living. Vera never met a stranger. She could fish anytime, but her true love was quilting and cooking.
On April 1st our Nanny (how the grandkids know her) started cooking and quilting with the Angels in Heaven.
Vera is preceded in death by her husband Robert A. Morgan, father Burl Morgan, mother Neoma Bell Morgan, step-mother Myrtle Lee Morgan, brothers Zelma “Pete” Morgan, Charles David “Burt” Morgan, and Burl Morgan, Jr., and great grandson Matthew Falkner.
Vera leaves behind daughter Rebecca Hennington of Cantonement, FL; son Bruce Edwin Morgan (Marie) of Pensacola, FL; granddaughters Myra Stevens (Billy) of Clarksville, TN; Vicky Geary (Ron) of Cantonement, FL; Cindy Habit of Tampa, FL; Tracy Bonifay (Jason) of Cantonement, FL; and great grandchildren Morgan, Sarah, Colby, and Joe; three great-great grandchildren Starr, Richard, and Aiden; and many close family members and friends.
Vera will be missed very much by everyone who knew her.
