Willard Lyles, 73 of Meridian, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Anderson Regional Medical Center North Campus.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., on Friday, November 22, 2013 at Newton County Funeral Home – South Chapel with Bro. Jack Giles officiating. Burial will be in Mississippi Veterans Cemetery with military honors.
Visitation will be held from 5:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M. at Newton County Funeral Home – South Chapel on Thursday, November 21, 2013, and one hour before the funeral services on Friday.
He enjoyed being outdoors and tending his cattle on his farm. He loved gardening, going to gospel singings, and watching football. He loved his family and his friends, and helping his neighbors in the community. He loved serving the Lord and attending Church of the Way.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years: Rachel Lyles of Meridian; three children: Cindy Brannan, and husband, Chris of Meridian; Sandra Arrington, and husband, Duncan of Meridian and Brian Lyles, and wife, Heather of Starkville; three grandchildren: Aaron Brannan, Rachel Lyles, and Bethany Woods; two sisters: Carolyn Miles of Meridian and Jennye Ledlow of Collinsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Amos and Hester Anderson Lyles; and two brothers: Kenneth Lyles and Henry Lyles;
Pallbearers: Joey Miles, Ken Lyles, John Clay Lyles, Robbie Ledlow, Lane Ledlow, Joe Bounds, Chad Bond, and Chris Bond.
