Sen. Hillary Clinton is the winner of the Pennsylvania primary.

The former first lady took 55 percent of the vote in the Democratic primary against Sen. Barack Obama's 45 percent.

Exit polling showed Clinton got support from blue-collar workers, women and white voters.

The economy is a looming issue in Pennsylvania. More than 80 percent of those surveyed as they left their polling places said they believe the country is already in a recession.

Clinton won despite being heavily outspent by her rival in a six-week campaign that allowed plenty of time for both candidates to court voters.
