The Lauderdale County Republican Party held its convention Saturday afternoon at the courthouse.

The party selected delegates that will represent Lauderdale County in the upcoming state convention. The county receives seven and a half delegates on the state level. From there, delegates will be selected to represent the Magnolia State at the Republican National Convention in September.

"Here in Mississippi, the caucuses in the Republican party are primarily just reorganizing the party. They are electing the Republicans that will be running the party here in Mississippi for the next four years," said Sally Brown, Lauderdale County Party Chair for the county's Republican Party.
