Following a small turnout at the polls Tuesday in Alabama, Choctaw County voters made their choices for county commissioner in two runoffs.

In District 1, Tony Cherry defeated Oliver Sealey by a margin of 678 votes to 367 votes.

In the District 3 race, John Beard defeated Gary Doggett by a margin of 717 to 492.

According to the Choctaw County Probate Judge's Office, Cherry and Beard do not face opposition in November.
