Gov. Haley Barbour has appointed a black lawyer to a judgeship, the same person who earlier criticized the governor for his lack of diversity when it comes to judicial appointments.
Barbour has chosen Malcolm O. Harrison of Jackson to serve the unexpired term of former Hinds County Circuit Judge Bobby DeLaughter, who resigned following his conviction in a judicial bribery scheme.
Harrison is a past president of the Magnolia Bar Association. The group had urged Barbour to appoint a black attorney to succeed DeLaughter.
The association said Barbour had not picked a black to serve on the bench in any of his 20 appointments since he's been in office.

Whats up with this, "BLACK" in the headlines. You couldnt find a better word to use in the headline to describe the story. Some people just dont get it.
Appointments should be made by qualification, not the color of one's skin, There are good people in every skin color as well as bad.
WTOK, WhAT IS WRONG WITH THE TITLE OF THIS STORY???? What do you mean "Appoints Black"? If Black is not the man's last name, I think you need to correct yourself. This title is very negative the way it is written; unless it is the person's last name.
