Maybe if the guys that committed the recent murders or the ones who were murdered would have had nicer furniture, bigger Tvs or an awesome game room when they were in juvenile this may have never happened!
Fix it up with my tax money? They will tear it up and they will NOT pay. Case in point why we have the problem in the first place. Sorry parents (the majority, not all) who don't work. I think if your child gets locked up in juvenile you should forfeit their check. And yes they must all be getting checks or their parents would actually be working. What about the woman who said her 10 year old son was in juvenile and he got peppered becasue he woke up to early?? That is a lie. I see these kids everyday and they act like animals. They need to be peppered more often and then maybe they would act right. She needs to be peppered for not beign able to control her 10 year old child!!
The jc needs to be fixed up and then if damage is done make the person responsible for the damage pay to get if fixed before they are released. My son had to pay for damage to his college dorm room.
Let the NAACP foot the bill, and put them in the Hilton Garden Inn. NOT! It is punishment! It is what it is! Not a Holiday Inn!!Here is the remedy. Do right. Do not break and enter, steal, skip school and you will not wind up in there.
well where I come from juve was county and city... and as i understood it is inside city limits so is city's responsibility.. my mistake then.. but the same thing stands on the question all these years and now take action.. and most centers are state over looked and yet the state said nothing.. as i have seen with this group they move like roaches finding one thing after another to stir trouble until they find out they are wrong then switch subject hope that people will forget the fool they made of themselves with the last run on the soapbox...... only thing comes to mind the times changed and they know the area will not put up with the trouble the kids cause and more will be locked up.. rather then do something to prevent the situation from the start. but then might be asking too much. like most of those groups like to look like heroes names in news rather then prevent it from the start;
Ed, this is Lauderdale County - not City of Meridian. Meridian Mayor has nothing to do with this center, nor does the police chief. If parents would tend to their kids then we would not have to worry about this center.
This is ridiculous! They are all up in arms about the state of conditions at the Juvenile Center now, but, as was previously mentioned, when the previous administration was in power they were completely happy. I say leave it as is. Have the juveniles who get sent there take care of the place. If they tear it up to bad they get to live in it. No more making the JC a great place to hang out with your pals. Maybe if it wasn't so nice these criminals wouldn't want to get sent back multiple times. Maybe some hard work and less coddling would solve the problem. Also, make parents responsible for the education of these criminals while in JC. Why should we pay extra for criminals who already have had the privilege of getting a free education, that we pay for and they abuse, get special treatment. If you are suspended from school you don't get a tutor sent to your house. Same concept. Parents should be responsible for any education these criminals miss. Their parents might learn something too!
you know what gets me this place has been in this bad of a condition for how many years and now the N.A.A.C.P. filed? .. why didnt they jump all the supervisors when the last mayor was in office and chief chief was there as it was under their watch nothing was done .. like most things in meridian.. yes i do have trouble with this as this isnt done for the right reasons but to use it to build a name of those involved to look like they care..
