1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup shortening
2 Tbsp. milk
1 cup mashed ripe banana
1/4 cup chopped nuts
1 pint wide mouth jar with seal and lid
1. Stir together flour, baking powder, soda, and salt. Set aside.
2. In a mixing bowl beat sugar and shortening with electric mixer or whisk till light, scraping sides of bowl often. Add eggs, one at a time, and the milk, beating until smooth after each addition. Add flour mixture and banana alternately to creamed mixture, beating or stirring till smooth after each addition. Fold in nuts.
3. Fill a lightly greased pint jar. Place in preheated oven at 350° for 25-35 minutes or until golden. Cut off any excess from jar and place seal onto jar.
4. Take round circle and place onto cloth and cut around the six-inch circle. Take cloth and place over seal. Make a bow and tie to ribbon. Now cut ends of ribbon into a V at each end and place bow into center of cloth and place lid on to hold the cloth and ribbon.
