Nanny Galbreath’s Peach Cobbler

Ingredients

  • 1/2 stick unsalted butter
  • 8 oz can of sliced peaches
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1/2 stick unsalted butter
  • 8 oz can of sliced peaches

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 cup self-rising flour

    Directions

    1. Slice the butter into thin slices, and place them in the bottom of a small baking pan.



    2. Mix 1/4 cup of the sugar with the peaches and pour into the pan.



    3. In a small bowl mix the buttermilk, remaining sugar and flour and blend well.



    4. Pour the buttermilk mixture over the peaches in the pan and bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown.



    5. Serve with fresh whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.



    Yield: 4 to 6 servings
