The Second Annual Mayor of Epes Celebrity Basketball Camp will be held in June in Sumter County.

At least ten current and former NBA players are expected for the event. That includes former NBA greats Spud Webb and Dominique Wilkins. Aside from basketball, organizers say participants will learn much more.

"There will be computer labs and reading rooms and other programs that exercise the minds, not so much as the body. The body, but the mind as well," said Valerie Lerche, public relations representative for the town of Epes.

The camp is open to student ages 7 to 18. It will be held June 6-8 at Sumter County High School. The costs is $125 for all three days. All of the proceeds raised will be used to build a community center in the town of Epes.
