The Neshoba County School Board has appointed an interim superintendent.

Board president Randy Deweese said the board Tuesday morning tapped Neshoba Central High School assistant principal Tommy L. Dearing for the job.

Dearing will fill the position that is being vacated by V.C. Manning, who recently announced his resignation.

Dearing will serve until a new superintendent is elected. The school board is asking county supervisors to schedule a special election for November.
