Not a bad idea Anonymous on June 17 at 1:04. Parenting classes would be an excellent idea for the discipline committee that is suppose to be meeting this summer to improve the discipline policy to incorporate into the part on the consequences of disrupting class. If a student is a habitual behavior problem and he/she does not follow rules and procedures after the first parent conference is held then the parent should be required to attend a parenting class so he/she can learn how to correct his/her child and make them understand that school is for learning not disrupting the classroom where learning is suppose to be taking place. Teachers need the parents to make their child understand that they are their for an education and not to disrupt class and interfere in the learning of other students who follow the rules and procedures. Parents who's children do obey need to demand that these children be removed from your child's class until they can follow the same rules your child follows.
You said it Lucy!
Boredom is a pathetic excuse for "ARSON"-$50,000. pathetic. Where were the parents? These are just children???? VERY SAD
See why parents are glad when school is in. They can't control their own kids but expect teachers to. LOL
This is disgraceful. I'm seriously starting to think we need mandatory parenting classes and that people should have to have a license to raise kids. Pathetic. Ultimately the kids are responsible but the parents should be held accountable too. After all, they're the ones who did a poor job of raising them.
parents just let their kids do anything they want nowdays.they don't know how to be parents.they need to do alot of time in juvi and the parents should have to pay the $50,000 in damages.i know they'll just slap them on the hand and say don't do that again.BE A PARENT AND PUNISH THEM.
The Clinton's used the old African phrase, "It Takes a Village to raise a child." Ronald Ragen responded by saying, "It takes parents." I agree with it takes parent because this village (Meridian), has gone to the dogs!
