Students in Choctaw County, Ala., returned to class Monday to continue a program that was almost given the ax.
A few weeks ago, the school district's Junior ROTC program was close to being discontinued due to the lack of money to pay the four instructors required.
School officials say they have now secured a promise from state Rep. Thomas Jackson for state funds to finance the remaining $70,000 needed for the program to remain.
