Choctaw County High Student Remembered

Faculty, staff and students at Choctaw County High School are continuing to mourn the loss of one of their own.

17-year-old Justin Lewis died in a car accident prior to the start of school Friday. He was a senior at CCHS and a member of the Tiger football team.

To help deal with the loss, counselors are being brought in to the school and students have created their own message board on a wall to express their feelings.

"They are very responsive. Some of them like to do it in the form of drawing. Some of them like to do it in the form of writing to express how they are feeling, especially on the high school level," said Tikisha Brooks-Graham, a social worker at CCHS. "And we do have some that have been talking about it."

School officials say Justin's funeral is expected to be held Saturday in the gymnasium at Choctaw County High.
