A couple of artists were invited to spend time sharing their craft with students at Northwest Middle School.
Tammy Stanford-Williams presented a dance workshop aimed at integrating the arts into the math and science curriculum.
Terrence Roberts was also invited to share the art of storytelling with language arts classes.
"It is important for our children to do arts in the classroom because it will help them grow academically as well as socially and to help improve their learning, and to also, give them a better chance in life," said chorus teacher, Barbara Sanders.
Both Williams and Roberts held after-school workshops for teachers.
Northwest Middle School is a Mississippi Arts Commission Whole Arts School.
