Carver Students Supporting Relay for Life

As part of a fundraiser for Relay for Life, the students and faculty at Carver Middle School are selling 'chains of hope'.

The paper chain links are sold for 25 cents each to students, who then write down a family member or friend who has been affected by cancer.

The links are creating a chain that organizers hope to hang all the way around the school.

"Cancer affects everybody, and everybody at our school has in some way been affected by cancer," said Natalie Ward, relay for Life chair. "We have three teachers on staff who have been personally affected by cancer, and a lot of these chains you see have been written in their honor."

The school is also hosting a fundraising event Tuesday night in conjunction with Raising Cane's on North Hills Street until 8 p.m. If you buy food there and mention you are with Carver, the Relay for Life team will get 15 percent of the proceeds.
