Meridian, Miss. A group of local students earned a time of celebration and fun.
Family Bowl Lanes in Meridian was full of 11th and 12th grade students from Clarkdale High School Friday.
These students earned high scores, proficient and advanced, on state tests last spring.
Students said the hard work was worth it.
"I was very excited. I was very nervous," said 11th grade students Lauren Davis. "At first I felt like I had completely failed it. But finding out my test scores and making a very high percentage on it I was very excited. Very, very excited."
"I was happy," said Krystal Lewis, who is in the 12th grade. "I was nervous the whole summer. I was, like, I don't know what I'm going to do if I don't pass this test. And when I found out I made proficient, I was so excited."
Students say they want to encourage everyone to work hard and do their best. They say above your normal class room studying, it's worth it.
