The Lamar High School boys soccer team was recognized Tuesday by the city of Meridian.
The mayor proclaimed it Lamar Boys Soccer Team Day.
The city saluted the success of Lamar's soccer program in winning three of the last four AA championships of the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools. That includes the current title.
Lamar compiled a 17-2-1 record this year. One game ended in a tie, because it was called due to darkness.
